The successful candidate will have the privilege to establish and lead the manufacturing engineering function, implement best practices, enhance crucial manufacturing processes, and oversee a team of committed engineers.

About the Manufacturing Engineering Manager Role:

This role is perfect for someone with strong communication, organisation and engineering skills, who thrives in a large-scale hard and soft goods manufacturing environment within the sporting goods industry. The successful candidate will have the chance to build and lead the Manufacturing Engineering function, set up best practices, optimise critical manufacturing processes, and manage a team of dedicated engineers.

What youll do:

As a Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will be at the forefront of leading our Asia Manufacturing team. Your role will involve setting up SOPs and best practices for the department, documenting and optimising critical manufacturing processes, partnering with suppliers on manufacturing modernisation, troubleshooting production issues, managing tooling needs, supporting tech transfer and re-development of product lines. You will also be responsible for maintaining extensive internal and external communication, setting clear goals and KPIs for your team, measuring results, and travelling to factories across Asia as required.

• Build and lead the Manufacturing Engineering function
• Set up Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and best practices for the Manufacturing Engineering department
• Document and optimise critical manufacturing processes
• Partner with suppliers on manufacturing modernisation
• Troubleshoot production issues to improve efficiency
• Manage tooling needs, usage, lead-times, and investments
• Support tech transfer and re-development of product lines
• Maintain extensive internal and external communication and follow-up
• Set clear goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for the team and measure results
• Travel to factories across Asia as required

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this role will bring a wealth of experience from the sporting goods industry. With a college degree in Engineering under your belt, you will have spent at least 10 years in a large-scale hard and soft goods manufacturing environment. Your expertise in raw material and product manufacturing, coupled with your strong understanding of manufacturing, industrial engineering, tooling, and process optimisation will be invaluable. You will also have knowledge of costing, injection moulding, automation, cut & sew, knitting technologies relevant to performance apparel/accessories/footwear. Your strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Vietnamese, attention to detail, organisation skills, and experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Illustrator Software program will set you apart.

• College degree in Engineering required
• 10+ years experience in large-scale hard and soft goods manufacturing environment in the sporting goods industry
• 2+ years of experience in managing or supervising a team
• Expert knowledge in raw material and product manufacturing
• Strong understanding of manufacturing, industrial engineering, tooling, process optimisation
• Knowledge of costing, injection moulding, automation, cut & sew, knitting technologies relevant to performance apparel/accessories/footwear required
• Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Vietnamese
• Strong attention to detail and organisation skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Illustrator Software program
